I have a new theory that everything you really need to know about running a company can be learned by watching The f Word on BBC. This is another Gordon Ramsey show and, like him or hate him, it really shows his true self, which I believe to be a cornerstone of a successful company. Here's what you'll see:
- Be yourself, which means that sometimes you're an asshole.
- Don't compromise. Put your best self/product/service forth no matter what.
- Serve at the pleasure of the customer. On the show, the customers don't pay if they don't enjoy.
I'm not a big fan of reality shows, except for the type that show people doing their thing. The F Word definitely shows Gordon and it makes me think that I may need to start filming my own thing.
Would you act any differently if the world were watching?
